EDB signed the Agreement with First Wind Power Plant LLP

Credit facility for the amount of 14,2 billion KZT

Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) concluded the Credit Facility Agreement for the amount of 14,2 billion KZT (approximately 94 mln.KZT) for 10 year term with First Wind Power Plant LLP (a subsidiary of Samruk-Energy LLP) on April 30, 2013. Allocated funds were directed for project implementation.

All stages of preparation of RES project are completed

The feasibility study is approved

First Wind Power Plant LLP is the first project in the field of development of alternative energy sources in Kazakhstan, which completed all preparation stages in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on support of renewable energy resources and got approval of the feasibility study from the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MINT) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Output rate is defined

Ministry approved the feasibility study

The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies approved the feasibility study and defined output rate and its duration. First Wind Power Plant is a dynamically developing enterprise, dealing with production of power with use of renewable energy resources.

For the period from August 15, 2015 to May 31, 2017

307 million kilowatt of power per hour

The Wind Power Plant produced 307 million kilowatt of power per hour for the operation period from August 15, 2015 to May 31, 2017. Rotating blades of 85-meter structures produced electricity for 7 billion 300 million KZT. 100% of produced electric power is supplied to the National Electricity Grid of Kazakhstan.

60 thousand tons of coal is saved

The first step in implementation of alternative energy

The Company plans to extend capacity of power generation up to 300 megawatt. Implementation of the project of wind power plant is the first step on the path of introduction of alternative energy, which will lead to reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and to generation of more than 172 million kilowatt per hour without consumption of hydrocarbon fuel, saving more than 60 thousand tons of coal, and allowing increase of reliability of power supply in the region.

Wind power plant plans to employ up to 40 local workers

Power plant was put into operation to the full extent

Wind power plant was put into operation to the full extent in 2017. First Wind Power Plant LLP plans to employ up to 40 local workers, who further will be educated in Germany for mastering technological software (for operator skills of WPP control) and service maintenance of the wind power plant.

High social and economic importance

The Project reduced electric power shortage

The Project has high social and economic importance, as it is the first major industrial wind power plant in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of development of wind energy sources. The Project will attract internal and external investments, provide new vacant job positions, tax revenues, and reduce electric power shortage in Akmola region and the Republic of Kazakhstan in general.
